The Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for an Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to join an enthusiastic Mental Health Service.

The Hospital's comprehensive integrated community mental health service provides support 24 hours a day, seven days a week across the Region.

Eight community mental health centres are located across the region and the community mental health centres offer a wide range of mental health services for adults, children and adolescents to assist in managing their mental health outside the Hospital.

For acute patients there is a 33-bed adult mental health inpatient unit delivering acute treatment and medium term rehabilitation for adolescent patients through to age 65.

or people over the age of 65 who have a mental illness there is a Unit that is made up of 10 psycho-geriatric nursing home beds for interim residents and 10 acute assessment beds.

This is a teaching hospital offering a suite of medical services, catering for a population of more than 240,000, the hospital treats close to 115,000 people every year, more than a quarter of them in their busy Emergency Department.

The hospital provides services in the areas of aged care, cancer care, elective surgery, maternity, rehabilitation and mental health.

The Location:
The Region boasts mountains, national parks, snow fields, rivers, forests and sandy beaches and is less than 2 hours drive from Melbourne!!

Skills & Qualifications required:
1.Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).
2.Demonstrated high level skills and experience in modern adult psychiatry practices (preferably in a range of settings).
3.Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team.
4.High level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, carers and workers and liaise with a wide range of service providers and work efficiently in a multidisciplinary team.
5.Strong leadership skills
