The Role:
A position exists for a Staff Specialist Medical Oncologist to join a dedicated team.

The successful candidate will join the current Oncology team consisting of three Consultants, one Advanced Trainee in Medical oncology and two physician trainees. Requirements include participation in a regular on-call roster for oncology, ward rounds, clinics, MDTs, student and junior doctor education and Specialist Outreach clinics in regional hospitals and other activities as per the needs of the Division and Department.

The Consultant would be encouraged to participate in quality activities for continuous service improvement and contribute to the enhancement of professional development within the team. It would be expected that the Consultant would be actively involved in teaching at all academic/non-academic levels.

The Hospital:

The Hospital is a Teaching Hospital that has 370 beds, servicing a population of over 140,000 it is a diverse population including urban, regional and remote centres.
It has a wide range of specialist services in Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, Intensive Care and Coronary Care, acute medical and surgical, Rehabilitation, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Mental Health

Skills & Qualifications required:
*The ideal candidate would hold either a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (specialising in Oncology) FRACP
* A proven commitment to maintaining professional standards in Oncology Medicine and involvement in quality assurance activities are essential criteria, with a good teaching record.
