The Role:
This role is one of Senior Clinician of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialty within the Division of Acute Health. The responsibilities of the role are to provide highest standards of Obstetrics and Gynaecology practise and support to the medical education effort in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
The Operating Suite consists of 5 theatres and 1 endoscopy room.
Approximately 10,000 procedures are completed each year.
The Women's & Children's Services includes not only an Obstetrics & Gynaecology department but also a Paediatric ward and level 2 Special Care Baby Unit; with approximately 1,200 births each year.

The Hospital:
This is a teaching hospital offering a suite of medical services, catering for a population of more than 240,000, the hospital treats close to 115,000 people every year, more than a quarter of them in their busy Emergency Department.
The hospital provides services in the areas of aged care, cancer care, elective surgery, maternity, rehabilitation and mental health.

Skills & Qualifications required:
* Demonstrated clinical ability commensurate with that expected of a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist
* Evidence of ongoing professional development to continually update personal medical knowledge and skills
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge of clinical governance and the underpinning framework for safety and quality in health care
* Demonstrated ability to liaise with other stakeholders to progress surgical services
