The Role:
We are looking for a Consultant Geriatrician who is suitably experienced to apply for an exciting opportunity that exists for a full-time Geriatrician. The Department of Geriatric Medicine is part of the Division of Medicine and provides an in-patient, domiciliary, outpatient and remote services. You will experience and develop new clinical practices in Geriatric Medicine and gain skills that are much needed in this unique and rapidly ageing population.
You will be part of a dedicated team who will provide the medical contribution to orthogeriatric service, the delirium service and the GEM Unit (soon to expand to a 24 bed purpose built inside/outside unit at the new Hospital) Subspecialty physicians also contribute to the extraordinary General and Acute Care Medicine service.

* Consultant Geriatrician Specialist/Senior Specialist - remuneration dependent on skills and experience
* You will be joining a team of enthusiastic and committed Physicians/Nurses!
* The Consultant would be encouraged to participate in quality activities for continuous service improvement and contribute to the enhancement of professional development within the team. It would be expected that the Consultant would be actively involved in teaching at all academic/non-academic levels.

The Hospital:
The Hospital has 360 beds, servicing a population of over 140,000 it is a diverse population including urban, regional and remote centres, it is a teaching hospital and is co-located with the Private Hospital. A wide range of specialist services include Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, Intensive Care and Coronary Care, acute medical and surgical, Rehabilitation, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Mental Health.

Skills & Qualifications required:
* Ideal candidate would hold either a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (specialising in Geriatrics) FRACP or completed specialist assessment with the College and given substantial comparability.
* A proven commitment to maintaining professional standards in Geriatric Medicine and involvement in quality assurance activities are essential criteria, with a good teaching record.
