Experienced Social Worker required for this NT service. This is a remote 60 bed hospital. The service requires high level skills as a sole Social Worker and demonstrated cultural competence working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population. There is a high incidence of domestic and family violence, child neglect and abuse reporting and statutory child removal, as well as provide services across:
- Sexual violence
- ED presentations
- Crisis response (adults and paediatrics)
- Guardianship
- Advocacy
- NDIS applications
- Inpatients only – ED, acute wards – general medical, surgical, palliative care, rehabilitation, maternity and paediatrics
- You must have strong crisis response and experience with victims of domestic and sexual violence
- Join a team of clinicians at different levels from Director, Team leaders, SWs, DTs, OTs, PTs, SPs, AHAs, ALOs, Admin
- 15th September start for 6-8 weeks + possible extension
You must have relevant experience.
This role requires you to be eligible for AASW membership
Overseas trained Social Workers, please do not respond unless your qualifications have been assessed by the AASW
Experience required
- Experience providing social work services within a hospital setting (Emergency Department), including crisis intervention and short term support
- Strong knowledge and experience in domestic and family violence risk assessment, safety planning and support services
- experience working with child protection concerns, including mandatory reporting requirements and liaising with relevant agencies
- Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and after-hours shifts, on call and 1pm-10pm shifts
