This is a rare opportunity for a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist with a special interest in infancy to join a developing infant mental health and early childhood service.

The service
You’ll work within a Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) with strong links to:
  • Perinatal mental health services
  • Paediatrics and maternity services
  • Community and safeguarding teams
The focus is on infant and early childhood mental health (0–5 years), including parent–infant relationships, early trauma, developmental concerns, and family systems.
You’ll be supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team including psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, nurses, and allied health clinicians.

The role
  • Consultant responsibility for infant and early childhood mental health care
  • Parent–infant and family-based assessments and interventions
  • Clinical leadership within CAMHS
  • Supervision and mentoring of junior medical staff and trainees
  • Contribution to service development and model-of-care design

About you
  • FRANZCP (Child & Adolescent Psychiatry) or equivalent
  • Special interest or advanced experience in infant mental health / early childhood (0–5 years)
  • Eligible for specialist registration in Australia
  • IMGs eligible for the expedited or specialist pathway are encouraged to apply
UK & Irish-trained Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists with a CCT / CCST may be eligible for a streamlined pathway to specialist recognition and consultant practice in Australia.
