The Opportunity
As Clinical Director, you will provide strategic and clinical leadership to the Anaesthetics Department, supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality perioperative services across the Wide Bay region. You will play a key role in:
- Leading and mentoring a multidisciplinary anaesthetic team
- Driving service development, innovation, and workforce planning
- Implementing contemporary models of care
- Supporting quality improvement, governance, and clinical audit activities
- Working collaboratively with executive leadership and surgical services
- Contributing to the continued growth of regional specialist services

Candidate Profile
We are interested in speaking with senior Specialist Anaesthetists who demonstrate:
- Strong clinical leadership and governance experience
- Commitment to quality improvement and service development
- Excellent interpersonal and team management skills
- Experience working within complex hospital environments
- Eligibility for specialist registration in Australia
- A primary medical qualification recognised by the Medical Board of Australia and eligibility for registration with AHPRA
- Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA), or an equivalent specialist qualification recognised by the Australian Medical Council
- Current compliance with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements and good professional standing
- Overseas-trained Anaesthetists progressing through the ANZCA Specialist International Medical Graduate (SIMG) pathway MUST have substantial comparability.
- Candidates who have completed specialist training and are awaiting specialist registration
- Senior clinicians able to demonstrate substantial comparability and progression toward Fellowship
