Working as a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide specialist psychiatric care to older people aged 65 years and over. You will assess and manage a broad range of complex mental health conditions associated with ageing, working closely with patients, families and carers to develop individualised treatment and care plans.
As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical guidance and leadership, support effective care coordination and contribute to the ongoing development of older persons' mental health services.
You will also have opportunities to supervise and teach junior medical staff, contribute to research and lead quality improvement initiatives. Through your clinical expertise and leadership, you will help improve access to care, enhance patient outcomes and support older people to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.
