The successful applicant will join a large, dynamic hospital and health service network providing care to a population of more than 725,500 people. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality, evidence-based inpatient and community-based psychiatric care to adult patients with a diverse range of mental health conditions.
The role involves leading and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, providing clinical supervision, teaching and mentoring for junior medical staff, and contributing to professional development across the service. You will also play an active role in clinical governance, quality improvement and service development initiatives, helping to shape and enhance patient care.
Strong collaboration with GPs, hospital units, and external agencies is central to this role, ensuring coordinated, patient-focused care across the mental health network. Participation in on-call, after-hours and weekend rosters is required, providing a varied and stimulating clinical experience. This position offers a unique combination of clinical challenge, leadership and professional growth within a supportive and forward-thinking health service.
About the location
This role will see you working in a large capital city situated on the northern banks of the Swan River in Western Australia. The area boasts all the amenities you would expect to find in a large modern city environment, and it is fully serviced by an excellent public transport system and a large international airport. Several large universities are within easy reach of the city centre, and Freemantle, with its vibrant music, arts and culture, festivals, markets, cafes and restaurant scene, is approximately 15 minutes away.
