In this position, you will take on a senior clinical role within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, shaping the delivery of high-quality, evidence-informed mental health care. You will help foster a service culture grounded in clinical excellence, teamwork, and genuinely person-centred practice.
The role involves close collaboration with internal mental health services, wider health networks, and external partners to enhance care for individuals with dual diagnoses. You will undertake thorough, integrated assessments, including comprehensive risk evaluations, and guide the formulation and coordination of tailored treatment plans. Your expertise will support the delivery of focused therapeutic interventions, crisis response, and relapse-prevention approaches aligned with harm-reduction principles. In addition, you will provide specialist input through case discussions, secondary consultations, and clinical reviews, while ensuring clinical records meet high professional and governance standards.
To be successful in this role, you will bring either subspecialty qualifications in the psychiatry of intellectual disability or substantial clinical experience across intellectual disability and adult psychiatry. Strong communication and liaison skills are essential, particularly in working collaboratively with general practitioners and other stakeholders. This is a permanent, full-time day position, with participation in an on-call roster as required.
