The Role
As Specialist – Gastroenterology, you will provide high-quality inpatient, outpatient, and endoscopic services within a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.
You will also play an important role in:
- Teaching and supervision within a strong Basic Physician Training (BPT) program
- Medical student education through links with James Cook University
- Clinical governance, quality improvement, and service development initiatives
- Supporting and mentoring junior medical staff

Applicants must hold:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Gastroenterology or equivalent
- Specialist Registration with AHPRA, or eligibility for specialist registration
- Strong clinical and endoscopy experience
- A commitment to teaching, teamwork, and patient-centred care
- Large tertiary referral hospital with exposure to complex gastroenterology and hepatology cases
- Strong teaching environment with active Basic Physician Training (BPT) and medical student involvement through James Cook University
