The Role
The Consultant Geriatrician will play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality geriatric and general medical care across inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acute and subacute inpatient care
- Comprehensive geriatric assessment and management
- Community and outreach geriatric services
- Rehabilitation and aged care support
- Ward rounds and multidisciplinary team leadership
- Better at Home and Rehabilitation in the Home programs
- Outpatient clinics
- Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff
- Participation in service development and quality improvement activities
About You
You will possess:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Geriatric Medicine or General Medicine with a strong geriatric interest
- Eligibility for Specialist Registration with AHPRA
- Overseas-trained physicians assessed by RACP as Substantially Comparable,
- Demonstrated experience in geriatric and general medical practice
- Commitment to teaching, clinical governance and multidisciplinary care
