The Role
As a Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine, you will have full clinical responsibility for your patients and will serve as the clinical team leader—supporting, training and guiding multidisciplinary staff in delivering best-practice care.
Your scope of practice may include:
- Inpatient geriatric medicine
- Outpatient clinics
- Telehealth consultations through Geri-Connect
- Geriatric Evaluation & Management (GEM) at Home
- Comprehensive assessments and multidisciplinary team collaboration
The Community and Continuing Care Division delivers a broad range of high-quality services focused on optimising health, independence and wellbeing for people across the Loddon Mallee region.
Key program areas include:
- Aged Care Assessment, Community Allied Health, Carer Support
- Chronic Disease Management, Diabetes Services, Outpatient Rehabilitation
- Geriatric Management & Assessment, including home-based and outreach models
- Allied Health Services, spanning 12 disciplines with strong professional governance frameworks
Essential Criteria
- Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- FRACP or equivalent specialist qualification
