About the role 

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a busy Consultation Liaison service within a major tertiary health setting. In this role, you will deliver high-quality care to patients with complex mental health needs across inpatient, emergency and outpatient settings, supporting the integration of mental and physical healthcare.

You will provide clinical leadership across hospital and community interfaces, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, person-centred care. There is also opportunity to contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within a progressive and evolving mental health service.

The position includes a strong focus on education and professional development, with involvement in teaching and supervision of junior staff and students, as well as opportunities to participate in research through established links with James Cook University. You will be supported within a collaborative, inclusive team environment that values clinical excellence, innovation and continuous learning.
