HP3 or HP4 Hospital Pharmacist required for urgent locum in Wide Bay, Queensland. The details are below:
- Hours/days per week - Usual shifts are 08:00-16:30 or sometimes 08:30-17:00 - full time equivalent hours preferred (e.g. 76 hours/fortnight)
- Reason for vacancy - Higher duties backfill (internal pharmacist moving into higher duties) and maternity leave backfill (up to 12 months)
- Likely to be one of two roles:
2) Clinical pharmacist on the wards looking after inpatients (best possible medication reviews, medication reconciliation, clinical reviews, discharge preparation).
- The service used i.Pharmacy dispensing software.
- Ward work could include general medicine, general surgical/orthopaedic, rehab, or cancer care outpatient clinic - inpatient wards usually have 24-28 inpatients.
- There is a lovely, supportive team. There are approx 35 members in the department (mix of 2 admin, 1 part time nurse (for methadone/Suboxone program), ~10 assistants (mix of part time and full time) , ~20 pharmacists (mix of HP3, HP4- mix of part time but most are full time), 1 full time HP4 educator, 1 part time HP5 Advanced Pharmacist (Quality and Compliance), 1 full time Director of Pharmacy)
- Driving license required? Not required for role but recommended for personal use due to regional location (e.g. accommodation may be offsite) - there is some public transport and accommodation may be in walking distance to hospital but this is not guaranteed. There are a few large-ish shopping centres with Coles/Woolworths/Kmart/Big W which are a few km from the main hospital.
- There will be credentialing paperwork to complete before you can commence
- You must have AHPRA registration and Australian hospital pharmacy experience
