Experienced Social Worker required for this NT service. This is a remote 60 bed hospital. The service requires high level skills and demonstrated cultural competence working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population. There is a high incidence of domestic and family violence, child neglect and abuse reporting and statutory child removal.
To be considered, you will have:
- Relevant qualifications in Social Work that meets membership eligibility requirements of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Experience in acute hospitals, including emergency department and general medicine wards
- Experience in contemporary DFSV intervention, risk assessment and safety planning in regional and remote context.
- Proven ability to independently plan and prioritise a high-volume complex workload within an ever changing work environment.
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and after-hours shifts, on call (penalty rates apply)
- This role is NOT suitable for new graduates or candidates who don't have PAID hospital experience
Cases include:
- Sexual violence
- ED presentations
- Crisis response (adults and paediatrics)
- Guardianship
- Advocacy
- NDIS applications
- Inpatients only – ED, acute wards – general medical, surgical, palliative care, rehabilitation, maternity and paediatrics
- You must have strong crisis response and experience with victims of domestic and sexual violence
- Join a team of clinicians at different levels from Director, Team leaders, SWs, DTs, OTs, PTs, SPs, AHAs, ALOs, Admin
You must have relevant experience.
This role requires you to be eligible for AASW membership
