Experienced Hospital Speech Pathologist required for an 8-12 week locum to start ASAP. Based just two hours from Melbourne, you’ll join a team of 8 Speech Pathologists. The caseload is adults. It is a Grade 2 level role, experienced Grade 1 clinicians also welcome to apply.
The caseload will cover:
- Adult sub-acute/rehab - assessment and intervention with adult hospital populations.
- Ideally you will have experience in the management of adults with disorders of communication and swallowing within a hospital setting
- Videofluoroscopy competency highly regarded
- Accommodation is provided in the dedicated allied health houses within walking distance of the hospital- inclusive of all bills.
- There is also the option for a six month contract (with accommodation) or permanent role
- Locum rates paid weekly
This role would suit an experienced speech pathologist with strong clinical skills within a hospital setting. The service are a well-staffed, experienced and forward-thinking team and require candidates, with collaborative and supportive communication skills.
As a Grade 2 speech pathologist you will be responsible for providing high quality patient care in our admitted services (acute/sub-acute). The service is a large regional hospital with a broad range of patients and therefore the caseload is varied and changeable. You will have skills in prioritising and managing your workload, clear decision-making and the ability to draw on and support your team. This includes independently assessing, planning, recommending and implementing a wide range of speech pathology services to inpatients recovering from trauma, surgery, acute illness, neurological deficits and more.
