The podiatry service is generalist in scope with a strong focus on acute and high risk foot disease management but with opportunities to work across the breadth of clinical practice in a close-knit multidisciplinary team with links to tertiary services. They cover outreach sites to the north, east and west all manageable within day trips but with opportunities to network to other hubs in the region.
This location is about 480km west of Brisbane (an hour flight) and is the largest town in the region, servicing a catchment population of almost 14,000. With an array of city-like conveniences and friendly country hospitality in a region traditionally rich with oil and gas and farming industries, Roma boasts an abundance of sports and recreation opportunities.
- The caseload is high risk foot focused rural generalist – everything from musculoskeletal to skin pathology to neurovascular assessments with a focus on treating people with active foot disease i.e. foot ulceration and related pathology.
- It is community based out of a hospital OPD – they see predominantly hospital outpatients but also cover inpatients and some residential care and multipurpose health service residents.
- Locum rates upto $75 + super per hour depending on experience + living away from home benefits – pay less tax, more take home pay!
- April start for 3 months

URGENT Regional QLD - Locum Podiatrist – high risk feet – upto $86 per hour + super (more for ABN)
- April start for 6-10 weeks + possible extension
- High risk feet/wound care
- Upto $86 per hour + super (more for ABN) + living away from home benefits
The role is located in regional Queensland, just under 4 hours from Brisbane. The podiatrist plays a pivotal role in the care of persons with chronic disease and diagnosed ‘high risk feet'. High risk feet involve diagnoses with amputations, foot ulcerations, peripheral neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease and gross foot deformities.
- HP4 Rural Generalist caseload: mostly outpatients and outreach, some inpatients
- High risk feet/wound care caseload
- Sole Podiatry role – you must be confident working autonomously. There is an Allied Health Assistant at each site
- Outreach to 7 small rural hospitals 10-22 beds, some are multipurpose health facilities (MPHS), all travel in a fleet vehicle (usually car pool with MDT members)
- Upto $86 per hour + super (more for ABN) + living away from home benefits
- Accommodation available and travel reimbursement. Single shared accommodation or option for accommodation allowance to stay in caravan parks etc….
- A car will be provided for work purposes.
URGENT Far North QLD – Locum Senior Podiatrist – HP4 – 4 weeks - three months - flexible

The roles tend to be rural generalist working across a range of settings including inpatients, outpatients, community and outreach. Some travel by road or light aircraft may be required. There might be scope for two positions, TBC.
