HP4 Occupational Therapist required for locum with remote health service based in South West Queensland. You will join a small allied health team. The focus on the caseload is split between:
Palliative Care – both ward and community focused, including outreach. There are approx. 20 active clients, as part of this role you will organise home modifications, equipment prescription, medical aids. You’ll work closely with Clinical Nurse Consultant. You will play a pivotal role in assisting people living with a palliative illness to remain engaged in everyday life and in assisting them to prepare for a good death. You will provide support, education, and training to carers of people living with a palliative illness from diagnosis to bereavement.
Rural Generalist working within a multidisciplinary team to manage, co-ordinate and provide optimal, responsive and flexible paediatric and adult Occupational Therapy services in acute, community and outreach settings. Servicing over more than 310,000 square kilometers. Providing Occupational therapy via 26 healthcare facilities consisting of hospitals, multipurpose health services, community clinics, aged care facilities and general practice services.
This role covers a rural generalist caseload across adults and paediatrics including equipment prescription, home modifications, hand therapy, inpatient and RACF. The preferred candidate will be someone who can work across the more complex areas including hand therapy and complex home modifications.
- 38 hours per week. Monday-Friday.
- Locum rates from $80 -$86 per hour + super depending on experience.
- Accommodation provided.
- Upto 200 towards travel, each way
