Experienced Occupational Therapist required for not for profit, paediatric service just two hours from Melbourne. There is a locum of 3-6 months OR permanent role available. Accommodation available and some travel assistance.
As part of the Paediatric Allied Health Team, the role will involve the provision of services utilising an interdisciplinary model of care as well as the provision of individual occupational therapy consultations.
The role involves both centre-based and outreach work, including the assessment, diagnosis, development and management of paediatric clients in partnership with their families, carers and other service providers.
This is a community health service, the roles involves:
- Undertaking standardised assessments,
- Scoring and writing of reports
- Undertaking blocks of therapy and or group programs
- Working in an MDT with other Allied health professions and AHAs
- There is some outreach to preschools and schools
- They service vulnerable community and see children 1-10 years of age with mild to moderate developmental delay. Children with more severe developmental delay would be referred to the NDIS
- Paediatric allied health experience required, using standardised assessments and undertaking goal directed strength based therapy
Your work will include:
- Working in a multidisciplinary team of allied health and nursing staff
- Assessment, planning, delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement related to the provision of paediatric services
- Using a capacity building model of care to assist parents and/or educators to continue to develop an individual child’s needs
- Up-skilling of other allied health professionals in the core business areas of occupational therapy
- Supervision of students and employees in roles graded below yours (grade 2 and above)
