We are seeking motivated and experienced Emergency Medicine Registrars to join the Department of Emergency Medicine
working within a diverse and supportive team of 12 FACEMs and senior clinical staff, you will provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients attending our busy Emergency Department (28,000 presentations per year; 28% admission rate).
This role is accredited by ACEM for 12 months of Emergency Medicine training, including completion of paediatric emergency requirements, and offers the opportunity to gain experience in a Regional Trauma Centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver day-to-day clinical care for emergency presentations (ATS 1–5, ages 0–100+).
- Manage both private and public inpatients and outpatients.
- Participate in after-hours emergency cover as rostered.
- Engage in teaching, supervision, and mentoring of junior doctors.
- Participate in ACEM EMET outreach education to rural and remote sites.
- ACEM accredited: 12 months of Emergency Medicine training.
- Senior Registrar stream: available to those post-primary or fellowship exam completion.
- Structured teaching program with regular education sessions and mentoring.
- Access to the ACEM Emergency Medicine Certificate, Intermediate, and Advanced Emergency Medicine qualifications.
- Opportunities for rotations in other accredited specialty areas (medicine, surgery, anaesthetics, paediatrics, palliative care).
- Experience in transition-to-consultant rostering with FACEM supervision for advanced trainees.

- Hours: Full time shift work + pro rata education time (structured rostered teaching + self-directed learning)
- Salary: $134,930 – $189,005 per annum + 12% superannuation + salary packaging
- Classification: Medical Practitioner Level 5–11, Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022
- Eligibility: General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
