We are seeking a motivated and capable Senior Registrar in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to join a dedicated team. This accredited senior registrar role is ideal for a Level 5 or 6 trainee looking to consolidate advanced clinical and surgical skills in a supportive tertiary setting.
You will step into a senior role with genuine responsibility while continuing to refine your expertise across obstetrics and gynaecology.

Why?
Tasmania offers the best of both worlds: clinical excellence in a close-knit medical community, and a lifestyle that is increasingly hard to find in larger cities.
You’ll enjoy:
  • Short, stress-free commutes
  • Safe, community-oriented neighbourhoods
  • Excellent public and private schooling options
  • A vibrant arts and food scene with year-round festivals
  • Easy access to beaches, alpine regions, hiking, cycling, sailing and skiing
  • 45 minute flight to Melbourne
It’s entirely possible to finish your clinic and be on a mountain trail within 20 minutes.
Work-life balance here isn’t aspirational. It’s real.

What you’ll gain
  • Tertiary-level exposure to antenatal and intrapartum care
  • Labour ward leadership and complex case management
  • Ultrasound experience
  • Consolidation of surgical skills, including laparoscopic surgery
  • Supervision and mentorship of Registrars and Resident Medical Officers
  • 10 hours of protected training time per fortnight
This role provides a strong platform for transition into specialist practice.

The role
You will:
  • Provide high-level clinical care across obstetrics and gynaecology
  • Support and supervise junior medical staff
  • Participate in teaching and training activities
  • Contribute to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
Essential requirements
  • General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable)
  • Ongoing compliance with professional registration requirements
Highly desirable:
  • Successful completion of the RANZCOG examination
Expressions of interest
Tasmania offers a rare combination of advanced clinical practice and exceptional lifestyle. Hobart delivers the benefits of a tertiary hospital environment with short commutes, access to nature, and a strong sense of community.

If you are ready to step into a senior training role that will prepare you for independent specialist practice, we encourage you to apply.
