We are seeking a Consultant/Specialist Neurologist to join a growing specialist service delivering advanced neurological care across the Top End of the Northern Territory.
This role offers the opportunity to practice broad, high-impact neurology while helping shape the future of neurological services in one of Australia’s most fascinating and diverse regions.
You will play a key role in the Stroke Unit, providing acute stroke care including thrombolysis, while collaborating with the Royal Adelaide Hospital Stroke team via TeleStroke services for endovascular clot retrieval cases. Alongside inpatient care, you will deliver general neurology outpatient services, consult across medical and surgical specialties, and provide specialist advice to regional hospitals and remote communities across the Territory.

The Role
As a Consultant Neurologist you will:
- Provide specialist care within the Stroke Unit, including thrombolysis
- Deliver consultative neurology services across inpatient departments including ICU
- Run general neurology outpatient clinics
- Provide advice and support to regional hospitals across the NT
- Participate in the consultant on-call service
- Teach and supervise registrars, interns and medical students
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement and clinical governance
We welcome applications from neurologists who:
- Hold FRACP (Neurology) or are eligible via the RACP specialist pathway
- Have experience managing neurology patients at consultant level
- Are passionate about teaching and mentoring junior doctors
- Are interested in Indigenous health and improving access to specialist care
- Have experience in Australia, UK, Ireland, Canada or New Zealand health systems
