The Opportunity
As a Specialist or Senior Specialist in Emergency Medicine, you will:
- Provide specialist emergency care within one of Queensland's busiest tertiary Emergency Departments.
- Manage patients across the Emergency Department and Emergency Short Stay Unit.
- Support regional and rural hospitals.
- Coordinate retrievals and transfers from remote and Indigenous communities.
- Participate in education, supervision and mentoring of junior medical staff and ACEM trainees.
- Contribute to research, quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives.
- Play an active role in service development within a progressive tertiary health service.
The Emergency Department provides exposure to an exceptionally broad case mix including:
- Major trauma
- Critical care
- Tropical and infectious diseases
- Paediatric emergencies
- Toxicology
- Retrieval medicine
- Indigenous health
- Complex medical and surgical emergencies
