JOB DETAILS

Specialist – Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Coastal Tropical Lifestyle | Queensland
Up to $520K+ | Relocation allowance | Coastal lifestyle
Multiple daily direct flights to major cities including Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne making travel for work, conferences, and weekend getaways simple and convenient.

Tertiary-Level Medicine. Real Lifestyle. No Compromise.
If you’re looking for complex, rewarding clinical work without the burnout of metro hospitals this is one of the strongest O&G opportunities currently available in Australia.
Join a major tertiary referral centre where you’ll manage high-acuity cases, work with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, and still enjoy a lifestyle most specialists don’t get.

A Lifestyle That Actually Improves Your Day-to-Day Life
Forget long commutes, traffic, and burnout. Here your day looks different:
  • Be at work in 10–15 minutes
  • Finish your shift and walk along the beach or grab dinner by the marina
  • Weekend trips to Islands
  • Fishing, sailing, hiking, diving—all on your doorstep
  • Year-round sunshine and outdoor living
  • A pace of life that supports wellbeing, not burnout
Why This Role Stands Out
True Tertiary Exposure
  • Complex obstetrics & gynaecology caseload
  • Subspecialty collaboration and advanced clinical practice
  • Opportunity to influence service development
Career Progression (Not Just Promised—Delivered)
  • Leadership and service development opportunities
  • Teaching and academic involvement with James Cook University
  • Research, supervision, and mentorship pathways
A Culture You’ll Actually Enjoy Working In
  • Supportive, non-hierarchical team
  • Strong clinical leadership and governance
  • Collegiate environment where your voice matters
  • Coastal living with access to beaches and islands
  • Affordable housing (a fraction of metro costs)
Your Role
  • Deliver high-quality Obstetrics & Gynaecology care in a tertiary referral setting
  • Lead and contribute to clinical services across hospital and outreach
  • Support teaching, supervision, and workforce development
  • Participate in research and continuous service improvement
Who This Will Suit
  • FRANZCOG (or equivalent) / eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA
  • Clinicians seeking complex case mix + meaningful career progression
  • Specialists wanting to step into leadership or academic roles
  • Those ready to leave metro burnout behind without sacrificing career
Financially, It Makes Sense
  • Lower cost of housing (buy a home near the water vs inner-city apartment)
  • Significant allowances and incentives
  • Less spending on commuting, childcare logistics, and daily stress
Many specialists save more here while working less intensively than metro roles.
  • Fishing, sailing, hiking, diving—all on your doorstep
  • Year-round sunshine and outdoor living
  • A pace of life that supports wellbeing, not burnout
This isn’t just “better balance” on paper—it’s a noticeable lifestyle shift within weeks.

About You
  • FRANZCOG (or equivalent)
  • Eligible for Specialist Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Comfortable with complex obstetrics and gynaecology
  • Interested in mentoring, teaching, and shaping services
  • Open to a role that offers both professional stretch and lifestyle reward
