The Hospital

are seeking experienced and motivated Specialist/Consultant Anaesthetists
to join their dynamic team. We have multiple vacancies
available for specialists with general anaesthesia expertise, as well as those with subspecialty skills in cardiac and paediatric anaesthesia.
Overseas trained specialist
who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA or New Zealand – assessed as substantially comparable or HOLD CCT/CCST and eligible via expedited pathway are encouraged to apply.

- 600 bed Hospital is the tertiary referral centre for the state, it provides a hospital service for a catchment of 250,000.

The Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine is a high-quality specialist teaching department with significant research activity. They participate in multi-centre research trials and encourage local research. They have strong links with University of Tasmania Faculty of Health Science and the Menzies Research centre.

And subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of Base salary plus on-call, pro rata) of additional payment will be paid from (PPS). If not admitted to the PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid
Fellowship of ANZCA (FANZCA) or equivalent and specialist registration with AHPRA
Strong clinical expertise in general anaesthesia, with subspecialty experience in cardiac or paediatrics (desirable but not essential)
Passion for teaching, mentorship, and research
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced tertiary hospital environment
