We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Specialist to join a Level 3 rural facility delivering high-quality emergency and inpatient care to the region.

Health Service
  • 28-bed rural hospital

The role
As the Emergency Medicine Specialist, you will:
  • Deliver comprehensive ED and inpatient care in a Level 3 rural hospital
  • Work collaboratively with Rural Generalist Medical Officers
  • Provide senior clinical leadership and expert consultation
  • Participate in the senior on-call roster
  • Lead quality improvement, audit and risk management activities
  • Supervise and mentor prevocational and vocational trainees
  • Practise within an approved Scope of Clinical Practice aligned with CSCF requirements
You’ll be part of the Rural Hospitals Service Group with strong tertiary support.

Essential requirements
  • FACEM or equivalent specialist qualification
  • MBBS or equivalent from a recognised institution
  • AHPRA specialist registration (or eligibility)
  • Experience across adult and paediatric emergency medicine
  • Additional rural, paediatric or emergency qualifications highly regarded
Remuneration & benefits
  • Total remuneration up to $607,670 p.a.(inclusive of allowances & super)
  • Base salary (L18–L27): $210,332 – $266,677 p.a.
  • Attraction & Retention Allowance: 50% of base salary
  • ED Specialty Allowance: 25% of base salary
  • Regional & Rural Attraction Allowance (5%)
  • Motor Vehicle & Locality Allowances
  • Inaccessibility Incentive Scheme (after 12 months)
Leave & professional development
  • 5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loading
  • 3.6 weeks Professional Development Leave p.a. (accruable)
