International Medical Graduates – Applying for Specialist Recognition of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology (RANZCR)

Before applying for Radiologist jobs in Australia as an International Medical Graduate Specialist (IMGS), it is essential for your qualifications and experience to be evaluated by the RANZCR specialist training committee. The evaluation process aims to assess the ability of IMGS to practise as an unsupervised Radiologist at a comparable standard to that required of RANZCR.

Pursuing a Fellowship in Radiology

To become a Radiologist Specialist, five years of post-graduate training is requiredthat is conducted in two phases. Phase 1 is three years of general radiology training, while Phase 2 is two years of systems focused on designated sub-speciality rotations of advanced training.

Fellowship is gained in Australia and New Zealand from the specialist qualification known as Fellowship of Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologist (FRANZCR).

Training and assessment for Fellowship

To gain the Fellowship of RANZCR, training and assessments are required within a timeframe of 5 years. The ANZCR training program for Fellowship is relevant to all practitioners that have completed their training in Australia.
